Forward Day By Day Books

ForwardDayByDay

May/June/July Forward Day by day Books are in. A $2 donation to help offset the costs would be appreciated. They are on the Table near the Music Ministry Bulletin Board. If you have never had a chance to get one of these books they are lovely. Rev. Sheila introduced them to me, and I use them daily.

Thank You From Grace

Dear Church Family,

I was touched to feel your support on my Confirmation Day! Thank you so much. The unexpected gift of the beautiful cross, the lovely card and all the well wishes meant a lot to me. I have already planned where I am going to hang the cross. A special big “Thank You” to Rev. Sheila for meeting with me and helping me prepare for Confirmation. And thank you to Rev. Sheila and Sandra for being part of the service in Hamilton. It was special to have them involved.

I am so grateful to be part of such a loving and caring church family.
Love

A Message From Sheila

May 1st – July 24th Sheila’s Sabbatical Leave and Vacation

As of May 1st I will be on my Sabbatical. During this time all communications with me must go through Lindsey who will only contact me only when absolutely necessary. Part of a Sabbatical leave is rest, rest from the work that we usually do, for me that is being your Rector and the Regional Archdeacon. While the work will be less hard to let go of, not being in contact you the people of my parish will be harder, so I ask for a favour, please refrain from Messaging me or texting me, even funny cat jokes, it will just make me miss you more!

I know that you will be well looked after by the Wardens, Barbara, Ray, Kelly and Kari, our Parish Administrator Lindsey, and our Honorary Assistants Rev. Donald Brown and Rev. Wayne Fraser and our Deacon the Rev. Deacon Sandra Thomson.

For pastoral visits please contact the office, if it is a pastoral emergency, please contact the Rev.
Donald Brown @ (905)892-0260. Sunday Worship will be officiated by Rev. Donald Brown, Rev. Wayne Fraser, Ven. Bill Mous, Rev. Krista Hilton, Rev. Deacon Sandra Thomson and Mr. Ray Elder. The schedule will be as follows:

Pwrdf-Alongside Hope Lenten Lunches

Thank you to everyone who provided soup, chili, and buns for the lunches. A special thanks to those that ran the lunches, set up and cleaned up. I extend my heartfelt gratitude for you jumping in last minute to take care of things for me. Finally, thank you to those that had the opportunity to enjoy the delicious offerings, and donate toward this worthy cause. We raised $1,539.35 for PWRDF (now known as Alongside Hope!) Our next lunch will be September, benefitting the Indigenous programs.
Again, thank you to everyone!

A Message From Kelly

Birchway Niagara is in need of some support for some families coming into the shelter.

We are in need of baby sleepers, clothing, pjs and warm coats for ages 0-3 months and 3-6 months for girls as well as boys 0-12 months. We have quite a few pregnant clients and newborns coming into the shelter and we’re just trying to spread the word that we need clothing for them. (These sizes only please.)

We are also in need of new Baby crib sheets and new baby towels. These items must be new due to health and safety requirements.

Drop offs to the shelter can be arranged by contacting Teagan directly via email teaganf@birchway.ca, or can be dropped off at church and will be delivered to Birchway.

Please see Birchway’s website at: https://birchway.ca/
Thank you for any support you can provide.
Kelly
