Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we have been waiting for. We are the change we seek. (Barack Obama).
Consider the ‘Buyerarchy of Needs”. Use what you have, Borrow, Swap/trade, Thrift shop, Make, Buy. The idea is to reduce consumer spending on hard goods, tools, clothing etc. Each of these categories involves the use of resources, packaging, freight, shelf space—thus consumption of scarce resources and creation of a carbon footprint.
Each one of us has the power to change—to not wait for politicians to legislate change, and to impress upon manufacturers and suppliers the need to improve products, packaging and distribution.
